Okay, #yarnuary update for week 1. I had to stop sewing because my cat chewed up my only yarn needle while I was eating lunch, but I'll get new needles tomorrow. Gauge kept shifting, probably partially due to cold, but I got a better feel for how to do this years old piece. I'm happy.

Okay I got a sense of deja vu reusing tea leaves. This pot has to be at least the 3rd time I've reused leaves today. ...It's a good a thing I lost count of cups because I think I'd be alarmed. But tea is delicious.
How many cups of tea have I drunk? I lost count two pots ago (I was never counting)

They’ve found another mature American chestnut tree that appears to be resistant to the chestnut blight!

This is extremely good news. Until the chestnut blight, chestnut trees were the predominant tree in eastern North America. They hope to breed this one with others.

you get used to the idea that mere depression is like, the most vanilla mental disorder
and maybe it is, but
it's still, by itself, a chasm of understanding that most people cannot or will not cross
& that's before you take into account the actual symptoms of depression to begin with, &, those are Non-Trivial
Okay. The weather report made me sad how very cold it is with windchill, but I'm just gonna bundle up, and do my shopping and #staypositive! I bet no one will be at the craft store today. Then again, old ladies are really hardcore. I bet they would endure the windchill if the store is running a sale.

When I was transcribing letters from the 19th century this summer, I came across one when a year changed, and he crossed out the year and wrote the year above that. I smiled as I coded in the striked-out text, thinking "It takes me until March to get the year right".
