Today's Episode of Avoiding School
Daughter: I'll get on the busy tomorrow.
Me: There's no bus tomorrow. It's Saturday!
@alice I totally felt that way as a child. Your daughter is craftier than I was though.
@alice RE Sensory: It got better with age for me I think. I've made changes with how I've lived after I got my diagnosis, but other then a love of headphones that makes me look like every other person on campus I haven't had to make any sensory changes I can think of. (Seriously, I know tags have undergone an evolution in many clothes, but I don't remember the last time I cut one). Idk if that helps though
@Lapis I probably am but I've never been diagnosed. My daughter is so much like me when I was little and even as an adult there's still stuff I struggle with.
@alice I don't think my parents are unless the spectrum widens. On both sides I come from a long line of gifted social speakers 😆 I'm just like "No wait, come back! Let me tell you about the Maya!"
I can't live by myself yet (or perhaps ever: That may be more the depression though) , but it's something we're working towards. But hey, it means this way as a student I get to have animals other than fish.
@Lapis *nod* I have a couple friends who are also diagnosed. One is a very talented artist and librarian. One is a very skilled statistician.
