@Lapis @pursuitofnerdiness nope! They usually are helpful (there are some brands - Malabrigo I'm looking at you - where they don’t help. But usually they’ll identify a group of yarn all dyed at the same time that should all therefore be the same color. (I can’t see the post you’re replying to, so I might be repeating something.)
