Jamendo is a streaming online radio service, similar to Spotify. But all their music has a Creative Commons license and can be downloaded for free and shared. They sell commercial subscriptions for public background music to businesses, so the musicians get a fair cut, while people still get free music.

If you use Rhythmbox go into settings -> plugins -> enable Grillo Media Browser. It will add Jamendo.
