Cool how you can tell the approximate time of day by the relative amounts of English, French and Japanese on the Crystal Ball.
(that's the federated timeline for non-witches).
@Maverynthia There's also MahouTsukai PreCure, Kuromajo-san Ga Tooru, Flying Witch, Mahou Shoujo Tai Arusu, Majokko Shimai Yoyo To Nene, Sugar Sugar Rune, and probably a bunch more that I don't have at hand.
@Maverynthia I've been thinking an all witchy anime bot might be nice. I already have a DoremiRobo though.
@aprrrl I think パオ is also used (=elephant sound, if I'm not mistaken).
@ShinyUnicorn Nah, the antidepressant takes away the baseless unhappiness, what's left is your own feeling, happy or unhappy.
Strange feeling, isn't it, not being depressed anymore? It takes some getting used to to trust your own feelings again.
@rkarabut Just male/female/other would not be acceptable. Trying to force that would just result in many instances with that part patched out and you'd still have the same problem when you need to federate with them.
@rkarabut Nah, that wouldn't work unless it's a free-form text field (there's just too many variations for anyone to enumerate them). And that wouldn't help your purpose.
@rkarabut Ah, my apologies. I should've realized you'd already thought of that ^_^;
My vote still goes to keeping the userinfo part of the software gender-agnostic even if the language part can't always be.
@rkarabut How about using both verb forms as either "verb-suffixA/verb-suffixB" or "verb-suffixA/suffixB", the same way gendered nouns&adjectives are handled in German, French, Spanish, etc.
I don't think people will like to be forced into gender boxes just because some languages don't have neutral terms yet.
Is there a way to split my home timeline into multiple columns?
Over on birdsite you can make lists for Tweetdeck. How do I do that on Mastodon?
I don't want people who don't toot very much drowned out by those who toot a lot.
@Dorialexander It looks like that map groups instances together. If you zoom in a little, it turns out a bunch of those 254 instances are actually in other countries.
Still a big difference though.
@candle Darius is @tinysubversions
Oh, right, that Cosmic Star Heroine was going to finally come out next week. I wonder if there'll still be a Vita version.
Is there a way to make a reply show up on the public timelines?
I tried putting a . in front of the @ username, but that didn't work, and neither did boosting the toot afterwards.
.@jennatar The images not being included in content warnings issue was already reported: https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/issues/1010
I've added a note about @ usernames.
(related: https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/issues/715)
I've opened a new issue for the automatic content warnings in replies: https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/issues/1326

@jennatar Yah, it seems like that sort of thing. Explanation ≠ justification though. I'll have to look into opening an issue or two on github tomorrow.
@jennatar Depends. If the username is at the start of a reply, it should be visible outside the CW. A username mentioned later (i.e. in the content) should be under the CW.
Bug? Or misfeature?
Replying to a toot with a content warning automatically adds the same content warning to the reply?
I can see a reason for it (replies to warned content might be sensitive too), but it might be better handled at the receiver's UI end (don't show replies until the "Show More" is clicked), not by auto adding CWs without user input. Or would that be troublesome with boosts maybe?
