Mastodon idea: For larger instances, have the server use its automatic language detection on local toots and list the top three or so as percentages on the /about/more page so that people can get an idea of which languages are primarily used on an instance.

@nire @abgd Please add your comments to it if you think I missed some details.

@nire @abgd Yes, I just saw that reply. Abgd hasn't opened an issue yet then?

@nire I've searched GitHub to see if there's already an issue for this and couldn't find any. I'm creating a new issue for it now. Is it okay if I link to this toot?

@Maverynthia SWAT Cats was really cool.
SC fanfic showed me I was gay years before I realized what that implied >_<

@Maverynthia @geekylou You grew up in the '80s? For some reason I thought you were younger. 😕

@MightyPork @WelshPixie I was just about to say the same thing ^_^ Contrast with the background makes a difference.

@WelshPixie White lines contrast nicely with the darker interior. Black lines stand out less. The no lines one feels like it's missing parts.

@rey @nire Nice quick work (^_^)_b
I gave up trying to find the unescaped spoiler_text.. ^_^;

Let's hope one of the important people accepts it for the next release.

@Alda Hi again. Say, I don't see any "noindex" tag when I look at any user page or toot page on witches.town. Did you forget to commit that part in github maybe?

@rey @nire It's issue # 1635 on GitHub: github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/
It's already marked as 'bug' and 'priority - high', so probably will be fixed soonish?

@Maverynthia Oh, there's lots of bots on Mastodon. Most of them probably are written in some proper programing language with its own mastodon api library (meaning you wouldn't have to reinvent that wheel). Sorry for not using a real programing language and having to resort to command line clients ^_^;

@Maverynthia Yes, but the Twitter and Mastodon APIs are slightly different. It's not just a matter of connecting to a different server.

This little script looks best suited to what I've used before: github.com/decklin/tusk

There are some clients listed as "CLI" on github.com/tootsuite/documenta , but those are interactive terminal-based clients, not actually CLI, so not really useful for building a bot on top of.

@Maverynthia Oh, you only squatted the name. I thought maybe you'd already figured how to make it toot :D

(typo in the profile btw)

@Maverynthia Yes, there are other instances that allow bots. mastodon.social itself is closed though.

How do you mean "bot sitting on botsin.space"?

Birdsite looks weird after hanging out on witches.town for hours. Where's my cute icons for reply/channel/sigil? :(
