Just had my ticket scanned by a train conductor I used to chat with a lot pre transition/name change, he didn't recognize me. I was afraid to make eye contact.

Visibility is sometimes hard, I really liked him, and I don't want to find out he is trans phobic. I want to believe and dream that those people I thought were good are actually good.

Sometimes the dream is easier than reality for me.

How do you deal with chance meetings with people that knew you pre transition that don't know about your journey?

@alyx you might know someone you could ask 😋 I guess it's not all that telling until 6 months to a year post surgical huh?

Maybe that's the time to go in for a BA consult for me, given Kaiser's messed up criteria. B's just won't cut it for me when my belly sticks out further than them 😭

I've been doing a thing. I finally fixed my logging scale for the purpose of experimenting with cycling my weight.

My goal was to gain fat weight hopefully in the right places. And then loose weight to see where my body takes it from. This was largely based on diet control. I added an extra 700cal a day for gaining and subtracted 350 or so for loosing.

I've done a couple of cycles and I'm currently at my peak of 170lbs. I now want to go to 150 in the hope that I'll lose my belly, which I didn't have last time I was there (pre hrt).

Silly body, why do you have to do that... Thankful I have the privilege of leaving work early when my tummy is upset.

@alyx yes, I'd assume this would be a change in how Mastodon handles image uploads. Totally a code base change. Cc/ @Gargron

@alyx could this just be solved by hosting the images on your local instance server and just have the images URLs propagate in federation?
