The individual subject, borne out of the project of the enlightenment cannot be an ethical subject.
It is the very lure of the individual, its de facto status as inherent, natural, and/or inevitable, that engenders an ethics of scarcity and selfishness that capitalism promotes.
It is no accident that capitalism arrives alongside the "birth of the human" as Foucault might term it, as neither can succeed without the other.
An entangled, or communal, subjectivity is the only ethical frame from which true justice can emerge.
