Initially when I started using Mastodon, I was kinda leery of the Local/Federated timeline. It seemed like it wasn't all that useful to me and would just be this constant flow of random things I couldn't follow.

Now, more than a week later, I consider it one of the best things about Mastodon. It's cross-pollination, it's exposure to a wider world than just who I follow. It's exposure too, for those who need it. Simply put, it makes the community (communities) stronger.
