I hate the number of fanfics that are like "canon happened until this point, post-Hogwarts" and where Harry breaks up with Ginny to have a relationship with Draco Malfoy because he "discovers he is gay"

also it's your first try at HP fanfic? It's already better than so much of the fandom
@Hiraelle *nod* My fanfic style is one-draft no-edits long-drabbles, so far, which isn't for everyone. This fic becomes somewhat more of a traditional narrative in later books, because that's where the canon divergence is, but it might not be your cup of tea anyroad.

I mean I *tend* to prefer detailed fics? but it's not an absolute
(I do think that if we didn't already know the characters it wouldn't work but well - it's fanfiction, we know the characters)

@Hiraelle (Mostly it's because I got so incredibly frustrated with fifty very good stories that only cover the first half of Harry's first year on an interesting premise, because they rewrite every scene in canon? And then end in Unfinished Fic Hell. So I decided instead to rewrite no canon scenes unless I absolutely had to and race forward to the end as fast as I could. *waves hands vaguely*)
