@AirDur @sempervirenx iel/ael... or other options...
hey @candle have you given thoughts about your pronouns in french
@Hiraelle @sempervirenx @AirDur i see all the enbies using iel/ael (they are one set yes??) so it sounds good to me. i don't know that i'd know how to use them myself tho mdr
@candle @AirDur @sempervirenx yeah there are others but iel / ael are the most common ones I think
(I don't really agree that ael is more neutral than iel, for me it's about the same, but it's all very subjective)
(I use elle and iel because I, for myself, don't like ael but I like iel)
@Hiraelle @sempervirenx @AirDur so someone explain to me how iel/ael function lol... you choose between the two? or they are used in different contexts?
@candle @AirDur @sempervirenx you can choose between the two or you can use both? because you can always have several pronouns, like I have elle and iel (she/they)?
(nobody uses my iel/they tho, *sobs*)
they're not used in different contexts tho, you can use one or the other depending on your preferences
@sempervirenx @candle @AirDur I use feminine ones, it's less complicated that way, I tried to use neutral ones and masculines ones and it felt good, but right now it's feminine ones
my gender is a clustefuck ouin https://witches.town/media/IkxBMojNTYMykzLaxx0
@Hiraelle @AirDur @sempervirenx oh yeah remind me what ouin means i think i knew once
@sempervirenx @Hiraelle @AirDur the n is silent right? it's like oui but very slightly different in sound??
@candle @AirDur @sempervirenx well it doesn't sound SLIGHTLY different to me....
it's the "in" sound... it's a nasal sound.... I don't know in what words you would have encountered it...
@candle @AirDur @sempervirenx https://translate.google.fr/?hl=fr#fr/en/ouin
THERE you can hear the "ouin"
@candle @AirDur @sempervirenx well they're from québec
it's not the french from france ouin.
very different.
@Hiraelle @sempervirenx @AirDur @candle ce ouin me fait beaucoup trop rire
@Hiraelle @sempervirenx @AirDur ohhh!!!
