@benhamill I don't know much about slack but Discord is free and low-maintenance to run a server (plus free voice chat, as @zigg said). And with my limited experience, I found it a bit easier to use than slack. A lot of people have written bots for this that and the other thing in Discord.

Elon Musk is afraid advanced AI is going to kill us all and iirc pointed to the DOTA bot at the International (developed by a group he helped found and fund) as an example.

Here's the thing about how we frame the whole "killer AI" thing- almost every story in that vein is about division. Either oppression or competition. We either need to keep AI subservient at all costs or we give it the ability to learn, but only in the context of conflict.
