After some experimenting it really feels like Twine 1.4.2 + the latest SugarCube format is the best way to Twine right now, at least for the style of interface I want to make.

Glad I tried out the original desktop version instead of shelving the idea of developing in Twine altogether though.

like I really can't see anything valuable in Twine 2 that makes up for losing easy media resource management

is it just me or is Twine 1 still just easier and better to work with than Twine 2?

@sophia @Trev league is good but it's hard to recommend as

1) the playerbase is better than it used to be but still really nasty

2) the new player experience has just been steadily going downhill as more complexity has been added to the game and while they halved the exp requirement to hit max level it's still a really painful process with only very basic guidance
