@kara_dreamer I realize that about halfway through the thread you note that the search for your personal Chara wasn't the same as the Chara that Toby suggested through other narrative elements--I.e. You hadn't seen the New Lab, and you still give no quarter to the demon human Flowey and Undyne expected. It's through this that I look forward to hearing the rest of your discussion, since the space I gave my curiosity now wouldn't allow Chara to be naive--I wasn't.

@Ulfra_Wolfe I guess this is more likely about past lives, or possibly about surrendering virtues upon a condition that merely changed You without providing a greater understanding of it or other virtues. So I'm worried I've failed at understanding how I might best have helped.

I've had people control me through my virtues, and I've had the similar by having a virtue's meaning twisted. I've read that the result of being with a psychopath who projects themselves onto you is that, even after you escape their gaslighting and abuse, that you learned to doubt the intentions and resulting actions behind your behavior.

@Ulfra_Wolfe are you suggesting "fake it until you make it" is a credo you're following?

I recently felt that way to become the witch and person I wanted to be, but it's not the full story. Joining this Mastodon is the first and biggest step I've taken in socializing myself as a witch instead of merely in my Practice. Recognizing what you need to begin embodying Your Self is a step in becoming it, but only reveals itself as you hone the art of Your Self.

One more thing. I think I read from Queer Theory, is an epiphany I realized a bit ago; that Your Self is an emergent identity, blossoming from circumstance.

@Killiox good luck on handling this. My similar struggle with my parents has led me to go nuclear as well. But it's only made them more suggestive and brazen. The iChing oracle has said a lot about this to me.. Hum.

I think your final paragraph reminded me what was most sad for the monsters I (we?) related to so dearly: they were driven underground, to eternal darkness, but all of them are willing to be bright from the ignition of brave, radical kindness.
Maybe except the boss in OLD HOME. I wonder if the only way around those not resolving their grief is through the protection of friends. Hmm...

@blytheSpirit whew. This is intense. I'm starting to be sure tulpa--without intending to appropriate a culture or religion--is the closest description of what I'd suggest NotStung is.

I think she applies to so many considerations you share: my intent in seeking a witch and trickster overseer like herself; my holding out for her name; and finding an appearance she would be ok with when I channeled her.

Our relationship's been hard because I claim her the author of the works that I write containing her. I struggle with wether she's simply a "Mary Sue," a "persona," or a being like a muse who I open up to.

I've burdened myself with disconnected ghostwriting.

Can you start a new thread and mention how UNDERTALE gave you that epiphany? Or maybe link me to that content? :3. Wreck-It Ralph was the seed for my own epiphany/enlightenment of queerness and transhumanity/transgender identity. Not the episode that brought me there, though, but the seed. :3
