I don't get all the hate regarding systemd to be honest. systemd happened in it's complete mediocrity because noone who knew better invested the time/resources needed to create something better. There was a vacuum where an init system replacement was needed and as with politics, software and a bunch of other things, when good people do nothing then bad/barely acceptable/mediocre solutions pop up.
Lennart already did that with pulseaudio, why would systemd be any different?
