We really need to find some new terms to describe *actual* freedom of speech, because "free(dom of) speech/expression" has been co-opted and ruined by neo-Nazis, pedo-porn defenders and generally shitty (or at least horribly misinformed) people who think it means being owed a platform for spewing hatred, lies and other bullshit without consequence.
I really don't like having gotten to a point where using the words "free speech" makes me assume you're an asshole.
@madswinther There is a difference of interpretation between US and Europe about freedom of speech. Europe have stricter laws about it, and a recent decision of the European Justice Court confirmed that interpretation by telling that hate speech is not protected by free speech (one of the Far Right leaders of Netherland went to that court to contest a conviction in his country about some hate speech he professed, and lost).
@Feufochmar I know we have laws on racist speech in Denmark, as well.
