@boots Those characters are defined in another block, the Letterlike Symbols block (U+2100 to U+214F), that was definited earlier. Mathematical letterforms extends this block.
@boots Cyrillic block encode Cyrillic letters, whose meaning differ from Latin/Greek letters.
The Mathematical letterforms and Letterlike Symbols have a different meaning from the Latin or Greek letters they are based on, because of their use in sciences.
Their purpose is not for styling text (you use a font for this), but to be able to distinguish constants, variables, units from text.
