So due to all the colleges up here I meet a lot of people from all over and I have developed stereotypes about some of them and in this thread in going to say what they are

(and these are stereotypes of them While Here not While There)

Seattle: Very into proselyting moving to Seattle. You'd love it in Seattle. They can help you find a job. They want you to move to Seattle really badly and you don't know why

California: Expect you to know everything about California as though you are from there and don't understand why you wouldn't. Completely oblivious to the fact that they aren't in California except to be confused by snow. Will take years to remember there aren't In - and - Out burgers out here. Will secretly be mad at you or hate you and never tell you and be confused that you haven't figured it out yet.

Virginians: Genetically engineered and Raised from birth to do well at the SATs and have strong college applications. Never had time to think about what they'd do when they get there

Chicago: They really like to gossip.

The rest of the mid-west: "Wow I never met a Jew before. You don't have those... You know... Little hair curlies?" (Actual quote). Thinks bagels are exotic.

New Yorkers: Will constantly comment on how they aren't in New York right now and how it's different in New York. Quick to burn bridges and upset that burning the bridge doesn't make you disappear from shared spaces like parties or the dining hall.

Massachusetts: Everyone you know has liked the "I Fucking Love Science!!" Facebook page.

Vermont: their name is Rowan Waterleaf and yes that is the name their parents gave them no Waterleaf is not a family name. You wish you were able to achieve the constant pure kindness and zen they seem to have at all times while completely sober. It's actually kinda difficult to be around all the time cuz you just aren't that nice

Connecticut: their parents are rich and take you out to lunch with their kid (your friend) but act like you aren't there and get into fights and family spats and you're just sitting there and it's really awkward

New Hampshire: definitely owns a gun or knows someone who owns a gun.

Upstate New York: "No I'm not from the city... Sigh... I'm so tired...."

New Jersey: does not like that they are from New Jersey but visits it often.

Maryland: They have a really really large thing of Old Spice in their kitchen and don't cover their burps.

I think that's all the major places people were from that I knew in college...

@shel did you not know the other north carolinians? there was a whole contingent of us for a while
