tomatoes are basically perfect, and soup is basically good, so why isn't tomato soup better than it is.
@FStewartT What's worse is tomato juice - the most disappointing juice I've ever had.
@A_Staccato_Semibreve i think it's because tomatoes are not by nature meant to be thick like juice or soup.
@FStewartT That would make sense. It's still impressive that they taste so little like tomato, though.
I wonder what the people who first put tomato soup/juice up for sale were thinking at the time…
@A_Staccato_Semibreve i somehow feel like the 70s are to blame.
@FStewartT The 70s were a cursed time, filled with disco (I think? I'm bad at history) and questionable decisions, so I can believe that.
