@alyx @ikea_femme that's interesting because recently a lot of people (some I dont know at all) have told me how young I look, or just asked me randomly about my age ... maybe there is a general looking better effect? but I guess just give everything time ... :)

@ikea_femme this is good to hear. I'm about 4.5 months and starting to see substantial changes, but somehow it seems like I thought HRT would be an instantaneous magic bullet and it's not quite that (of course). I think I just need to spend more time thinking about other things for a bit, which should be quite doable :)

@Sasha I wish you luck with the in laws. In my own case that would be a scary prospect. In general the right moment is hard to come by, and indeed even the presence of the right moment hasn't necessarily translated to actual action for me, which is a failure on my part, i think. Until recent days I'd been thinking of it as "you don't need to know yet" where it was really something I should have been doing for myself. But this realization seems to be making a positive change.

@lambdagrrl totally 1000% agree. I often wish I'd been smart and brave enough to tell my parents about myself as a kid. It's a struggle for sure and people need support not tests.

@lambdagrrl if I had been able to tell my parents and my parents had been so nitpicky I would have been super hurt I think

@rachel for myself it's weird how little I want to be friends with people once I find out they're racist. I had a very good friend who suddenly descended into racist rants one day and then after a huge fight on the day somehow we've just never hung out again...
