Depressing conversations about transness with loved ones. I feel very dented now.
What do you think about people who question the notion of transness because the notion of gender itself is problematic? Like: "gender is not a meaningful concept; we should all be beyond gender, so a desire or need to change gender is pointless or even pathetic." This argument hurts a lot because it shows a real lack of understanding and thats something that is really hurtful to get from people you love.
I wish I had a better counter than i) in a post gender world, maybe, but not here, or ii) easy for you to say...

@Eve i'm sorry you are hurting.
also, when I wrote my response, I felt somehow guilty or I questioned what right do I have to be smart and explain (mansplain?) things to you from my position which IS privileged (white male cishet).
all I perhaps wanted to say is that there are people in this world that haven't gone through what you did but that can hear you and support you.
maybe a good strategy is to surround yourself with those and loosen ties with those who don't and bring mostly toxicity in your life and heart.
stay strong ❤
