@cnc I HIGHLY recommend you check out the works of N.K. Jemisin! She's a WoC who writes all her protagonists as WoC and her style is amazing.

Also, if you don't mind ensemble casts as book protags, The Chronicles of the Necromancer series by Gail Z Martin has some really well-written women as PoV characters, even if the "main" protag is a man.
