@Eve yeah, though its more like... your brain adjusting/forgetting things

@Eve bc a loooot of things, at least after the first year of HRT, is your body and face being way ahead of your brain, and your brain using memories of old-face as a shortcut to processing faces

@Eve its also why new people misgender you less than people who knew you before/early in transition, etc

@Eve (facial piercings solved it faster than normal for me, whoops. brain lost its landmarks and one day everything kind of popped into focus)

@nire right. so people who knew you before (including yourself) still run recognition off memory not realtime processing, makes sense
