pretty much any time I use the phrase "someone in RL" or "real life" I mean to say "offline"...

I think it sounds more polite, slightly cooler, and I feel like I gotta unlearn the inherent fear from when "everyone you meet on the internet = bad" era, and part of that is assuming/insisting that relationships outside of tech are better than the ones that rely and/or began with it
