@DragonMagic if it's any consolation, my spellcaster players also forget about their spells. it's part of the learning curve, i'd say.

i find it useful to have my PC's sheet on hand and use one new thing per session (whether it's a class feature like bardic inspiration or a spell) to slowly gain the knowledge of how to use your character most effectively.
