I'm p sure I mentioned tripartite systems, they are essentially split ergative systems

I've heard of split ergativity where it's based on whether the "subject" is an agent, and I think you were telling me that in Austronesian languages they actually use ergative alignment for some marking and nominative-accusative for other kinds of marking on the same words?

apparently artifexian is going to make a video on at least the basics of ergativity at some point

Hmm, start with phonology and phonetotactics and basically a word for word cipher of toki pona and try to develop something organically from there?

If using toki pona as a base, I would make it employ a topic marker and lots of classifiers and reduplication for the bulk of its grammar
