In all honesty, democracy--as an ideal--is inherently flawed; when you give absolutely everyone a voice, you end up with tyranny of the majority.
And let's be real: America never had a democracy to begin with.
@ayachan @KyokiKafuka democracy is impossible, or at the very least too mich effort. less government would solve a lot of these "everyone has a voice" problems. voices matter on a smaller scale. smaller voices are also less likely to be echoes, imo.
in all honesty, i have no idea what mary stone is even saying apart from that she hates Republicans. i'm not asking for a solution, but what exactly is the problem?
@cardboard @KyokiKafuka As a communist, I'm generally opposed to people who call out for "less government;" I feel that people are most effective when they work together as organised groups. I think I would not want to see things decentralised beyond the point of Syndicalism, honestly; groups of unionised people would be effective, especially if they worked with a centralised body.
The problem with Republicans and right-wing ideology is its promotion of bigoted and fascist authoritarian values.
