@CursedConfetti I create content for sale / promotion in the photog arena and have been doing so for 2.5 years now. It's part of why I launched photog.social and setup an alt there for just my photography.

I can publish my work and promote it without 'polluting' my primary persona's timeline on mastodon.social.

Creatives aren't unwelcome on masto but having a dedicated space for publishing can help minimize intermingling of focus.

@CursedConfetti If there was an instance focused on kink and selectively federated, would that help?

An instance where sex work / kink / etc was meant to be discussed more freely but also federated to only approved instances instead of more broadly?

Possibly I'm thinking of maintaining a mastodon.social and link all my various monetary stuff to it and shift my hexed horchata acct to be more personal /local level

@CursedConfetti I wasn't thinking of monetizing mastodon. More of monetizing your own works. For example: linking to my photog portfolio so you can buy a print. That's more of what I was thinking.

I've found a multi-account approach can help keep things a bit more 'simple' and 'separated' content wise. It's a bit of a PITA sometimes but overall I've had really good success.

My engagement across the board remains high and people follow multiple if they are interested.
