Dm: you're on a building. Orcs are raiding the town. What do you do?
Me: *irritated at everything* alright I guess I'll light an arrow and shoot that
Dm: roll intelligence
Me: (seriously dude?) *rolls not bad*
Dm: you never specified which end to light and how to light it, so you light the arrow on the wrong end and catch the roof on fire
Me: ._.;; (I thought this game was good once?)

@ambyrb wow your dm sounds horrible, that's needlessly hostile to the players and just ruins everybody's experience

@CaptainACAB yeah and when I dm'd, I didn't know how to handle them as players and somehow they destroyed my campaign within seconds despite visibly beinf stressed out

@ambyrb i've never dm'd myself so i don't have any advice, but now i'm thinking back to when we would intentionally derail our dm's campaign just to mess with him and i feel like a dick

@CaptainACAB the dms campaign is nearly impossible to derail. They will take their campaign assets and move it on the spot and you learn that improv isboften better than a detailed prepared session

@ambyrb this was back when we were all kids and he was still learning the ropes, so things ended up being fairly structured
