I remember bugging my partner into listening to In the Aeroplane Over the Sea because as a tasteless, uncultured white trash hipster it's one of my favorite albums and one of the few that makes me cry every time I listen to it.

Rising Thunder: Community Edition has been released. The canceled game is getting the last version of the old beta released as freeware, with a new open source server.
Rising Thunder is a mecha themed 2D fighting game, the major twist being that special moves are single button and work on cooldown instead of motions. This is meant to make the game be more accessible and easier to jump in and learn.
I remember playing the beta and loving it, so I'm excited.
