Seems like the big new feature is auto-saves.

The FMVs are a lot nicer looking now.

Character models naturally scale with the resolution, but the backgrounds DON'T.

You can play with game with WASD and a mouse or with a controller. But there's not true analouge control, just eight way movement.

The music is of a worse quality than the PS1 version, but this can be fixed via mods.

Completely different menus. But I guess it comes down to aesthetic preference here. Probably something you can change with mods.
