So I understand it's cool and possibly even true to say Firefly ripped of Outlaw Star.
And I'm not a fan of Firefly...
But the usual weeb smugness of that statement implies that Outlaw Star has endearing qualities other than its soundtrack and the fact that it features a muscular cat girl.
Legit, the first third of the show is painful to watch because it's badly animated and the writers can't go a single episode without homophobic jokes. And the only things pulling you along are how fucking cool the soundtrack and Hot Ice Hilda are. And then Hilda dies.
