I remember bugging my partner into listening to In the Aeroplane Over the Sea because as a tasteless, uncultured white trash hipster it's one of my favorite albums and one of the few that makes me cry every time I listen to it.

And naturally I wanna share something important to me with my partner, especially since he doesn't listen to much music. Mostly dad rock.

So I wait the 40 minutes or so. And all they say is "This was terrible. The singer's voice is annoying and painful to hear."

I'm sure I went white as a sheet and felt way more embarrassed and disappointed than I should have over something so insignificant and me just pushing my shitty taste.
