@ambyrb vid.me was a start up that tried to be an alternative to youtube, but the only thing they offered was effectively a tip jar. Just their monetization methods. They also brought in a lot of scum and neo-nazi folks and embraced them. So yeah, it was a trash fire.

@BadWrongFun Up until a few months ago to get paid you still had to email the CEO to get your tips sent to your PayPal account.
This was just not going to end well in any way whatsoever.
