Earlier today, someone posited that a common part of identifying as a #furry is also identifying as something other than one's human self. Maybe not in a deep spiritual way, but at least on a wishful "Wouldn't it be nice if I was my fursona?" level.

This does seem to make sense to me, given that a lot of furs I know would be their characters (or something similar to them) given the chance.
