@neil @shadowfirebird No no, I agree. And I don't think a free market /has/ to be a power vacuum that decays (collapses?). You just have yo understand that it's not a stable, natural phenomenon, it's an unstable artificial one, and like most unstable artificial things, it will require constant defense and maintenance. And yes, I know that's an odd thing to hear from the person with the avatar imitating Lenin. XD

@neil @shadowfirebird I'm not sure if it was /democracy/ that failed per se, versus our economic systems and overall common sense. We trusted the "free" market, and the "free" market laughed and robbed us blind. Now we need to figure put where to go from here. :/

Hmm. Can anyone give me a summary or a link to a summary, or something, for the drama way back relating to mastodon/GNUSocial, compatibility, protocol, and all that? I'm probably going to have to tackle the same kind of problems with Agora soonish, so I might as well study up. XD

Hmm. So I finally got my thing working the way I want - except it's unreasonably slow. I think that might just be a result of the scale on which I'm doing it, and the best way to deal with that would be to scale down. Now, I can do that pretty easy, I think, but it would mean going ahead with another major feature. Should I do that, or should I try and optimize the code some more first? Some profiling and refactoring might be in order anyway... :/
