A law requiring computer/phone/tablet/console/ereader hardware manufacturers to allow a mode by which their product can be used without requiring any sign-in at all

I should be able to use and update a Mac without an Apple ID

I should be able to use and update my phone without a Google account

I should be able to use and update a Playstation, Kobo, whatever without signing in

And tech companies will never go back to that unless they're forced
