Tired: Gender Binary
Wired: Gender Duck Typing
@Angle I don’t have a personal understanding of gender (besides rare feminine feels), but duck typing is simply “does it do X? We don’t care if it’s a Y, we just want to do X”
@Angle …uh, don’t read any significance into the use of X and Y there, was not thinking chromosomes at all
@zigg Perfect! That's exactly what I meant. XD
@Angle@witches.towh well actually, the duck ( and in particular the mallard duck ) is considered an invasive species in *is mobbed off stage*
@Angle duck typing is 'can X be treated as y? If so then consider it y'.
So, if i they've got Ins they can be a girl and if they've got Outs they can be a boy. It still assumes there are clear definitions c.c
@Jacel Well no, this is for gender, not sex. And its more like "Can they lift? Then lift. Can they comfort? Then comfort. Can they think? Then think." In a way, you could argue I'm proposing abolishing gender entirely with that post. Though I wouldn't take it that seriously. It is mostly just a shitpost. XD
@Angle oh, of course. I'm kind of still half asleep too, evidently.
Classification by intent and ability is mostly where I fall in evvvvverything.
@Angle although! Overlap meaning 'you can fulfill various roles' is fun anyhow.
@Angle "Hi, I'm Andy and I identify as a mallard."
"Hi, I'm bob, and I identify as an African knob-billed, ... if you get my drift."
@Angle Unless I've entirely misunderstood duck typing, which is perfectly possible. :/
