@woozle skepticism is good, it allows you to see the counter intelligence from the truth. An easy way to prove the "theory" correct is by following the money. Who owns what, who pays who. But you have the correct assessment in that greed is the root of most evil: any means necessary to keep the monopoly in place.
What better way to control the masses than to bravely accept our new world order.

@benis The theory is certainly plausible, and I'm not dismissing it; I just don't yet have any evidence to suggest that it's necessary.
