either some people are quietly leaving masto or someone unfollowed/blocked me across at least two instances (and i doubt that actually happened to be quite honest)
either way, i have no way to know. i'm unaccustomed to seeing masto numbers drop
@patience You're probably seeing accounts on smaller instances that have gone offline disappear. I think some of the less dedicated mastodon instances have been shutting down, while things slowly narrow down to those who are in for the long haul.

@Angle yeah, i've noticed the number of new instances appearing have been subsiding for about the last month, give or take. i guess it was kind of a "gold rush" for a short while there, huh
