@guerrillarain I find this trend really frustrating in pop love songs. Like, "She doesn't know how beautiful and that's why she's beautiful"?!? Fucking sit the hell down with your patronizing bullshit. Especially since the songs I'm thinking of are marketed at middle and early high school aged girls. It's helping to do long term damage to their incipient self esteem and identity. Ugh.
