We Asked Men and Women to Wear Sensors at Work. They Act the Same but Are Treated Very Differently

> Our analysis suggests that the difference in promotion rates between men and women in this company was due not to their behavior but to how they were treated. This indicates that arguments about changing women’s behavior — to “lean-in,” for example — might miss the bigger picture: Gender inequality is due to bias, not differences in behavior.
>
> Bias, as we define it, occurs when two groups of people act identically but are treated differently.

No future without freedom @Agra

@Alda sadly, I could add some anecdotes on how I was treated very differently to my male colleagues on my previous project. Like their bad behaviour was my fault, in part because I refused to pretend I enjoy sexual harassment, and if I defended myself from their insults I was being "bad" because that made the poor men sad.
