On 7th July, the Catalan government invalidated 63.961 fascist trials, held between 1938 and 1978. The "Arxiu Nacional de Catalunya" has published the names of all people and entities affected. There are 65.990 unique people names.
My home town's population is about 65.972 inhabitants, so there where more repressed people during Franco's dictatorship than people living in my town in 2016.
In the city I'm living now had 251.364 inhabitants in 2015. It's as if more than one in every 4 people here had beed put in an unfair trial.
It is so sad it ever happened, but I'm glad the catalan government took this simbolic action ...
