I've decided to retry playing the 'new' Pokémon (Omega Ruby) that I got ages ago and couldn't get into.
I seem to have a much easier time getting into it now! (Probably something to do with the fact that I've figured out that I'm not a guy, and can pick the right character.)
@A_Staccato_Semibreve something I like about the Gen VI and VII is that they don't ask outright "are you a boy or a girl?" they just ask you to pick a picture of various male or female trainers with different hair/skin color
That's still in the gender binary but it feels less... bad I guess?
@A_Staccato_Semibreve (also kudos to Pokémon Uranium, which I personally didn't like, but had the great quality of letting the player choose, in addition to a male or female player, a gender-neutral one
